    Traverse Bhutan, the Buddhist kingdom of the Himalayas, on your Royal Enfield motorbikes on this 9-day motorbiking trip. With a gang of adventurous bikers, your ride begins from the Indian town of Siliguri. Riding on winding roads to the backdrop of snow-capped peaks, you'll arrive at Paro in Bhutan, where you'll go on a short trek to visit the captivating Tiger's Nest monastery. You'll continue riding to a few iconic destinations in Bhutan like the Punakha Dzong, Druk Wangyal Chorten, and visit many small but beautiful towns along the way.

    Please note that price displayed is the per person price for a booking for one motorbike rider and one pillion rider.

    Bhutan, the hermit kingdom on the eastern ridges of the Himalayas, is your destination on this 9-day motorbiking itinerary. From Siliguri in West Bengal, a thrilling ride takes you along twisting roads into Sikkim and then across national borders into Bhutan. You'll ride through the peaceful valleys of Bhutan, through gorgeous and dense woods, exploring the towering mountains of the country.

    You'll visit iconic landmarks that are venerated among Buddhist pilgrims and explore the true culture of the country with traditional architecture and gorgeous artwork. Your motorbiking trip concludes as you ride back to Siliguri, with memories of an unforgettable adventure.

    Rules on the trip

    Travellers are required to follow all instructions of the road captain during the Bhutan motorbiking trip.

    Travellers are required to carry a valid, govt-issued photo ID card and a valid driver's licence.

    Travellers getting their own motorbike must ensure that the vehicle is registered to the rider's name and all the relevant documents (pollution check, insurance, and driver's licence, etc) are in order.

    Cancellation policy

    If the tour operator cancels this Bhutan motorbiking trip due to any unavoidable circumstances, then you'll either be offered a spot in the next scheduled departure date or a 100% refund.

    If you cancel this Bhutan motorbiking trip at any day after the booking: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This transaction fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers are allowed to bring their own motorbike on this Bhutan motorbiking trip. In such cases, the price of the trip will reduce to INR 30,000 per person, without fuel.

    The departure date of this Bhutan motorbiking trip is subject to change on account of any unavoidable circumstances like landslides, flight cancellations, weather conditions etc.

  • Day 1 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Siliguri to Phuentsholing

    Arrive at Siliguri in the morning and begin the Bhutan motorbiking trip with an extensive 160-km ride on NH-31. You'll ride through acres and acres of thick forests and tea plantations as you proceed towards Phuentsholing. After the paperwork to enter Bhutan, you'll feel the ambiance change from the chaos of Indian cities to the quiet and orderly kingdom of Bhutan. You'll arrive at Phuentsholing and spend the evening getting acquainted with your fellow bikers and road captain. Overnight in a hotel at Phuentsholing.

    Day 2 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

    Early in the morning, you'll embark on an uphill ride to ascend more than 6,000 feet in a series of twisting roads. Before reaching Thimphu, you'll stop by local tea houses and canteens to take a break, admire the scenic views and have some snacks. With gentle weather in the sky, you'll reach the capital city of Bhutan by late afternoon. Overnight in a hotel at Thimphu.

    Day 3 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Day at Thimpu

    Today, you'll explore Thimphu, a bustling town that is the center of commerce, religion, and government. You'll begin at the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in the honor of the third king of Bhutan. You'll visit the local mini-zoo to see a Takin, the country's national animal. You'll visit the Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist house of worship and a fortress. You'll also visit a folk heritage museum, a traditional paper factory and the local marketplace. Overnight in a hotel at Thimphu.

    Day 4 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Thimphu to Punakha

    Today, you'll ride from Thimphu to Punakha, a pleasant journey though dense woods and views of towering Himalayan mountains. Travelling over rural roads and highways, you'll advance towards the Punakha Dzong. En route, take a detour to visit the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the fertility temple of Bhutan. Overnight in a hotel at Punakha.

    Day 5 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Day trip to Phobjikha

    You'll ride toward Phobjikha, a U-shaped glacial valley resting at an altitude of more than 9,800 feet against the backdrop of the Black Mountains range. You'll often spot flocks of black-necked cranes, along with wild boars, sambars, serows and other local wildlife on the route. After exploring the valley, you'll ride back through the woods to Punakha. Overnight in a hotel at Punakha.

    Day 6 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Punakha to Paro

    Begin your journey to Paro via the Dochu-La pass. En route, you'll stop to visit the Druk Wangyal monastery, where you can explore the culture through beautiful artwork and paintaings. After a tour of the monastery, you'll stop for lunch at Thimphu and continue your journey towards Paro. Overnight in a hotel at Paro.

    Day 7 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Day at Paro

    Taking a break from motorbiking, you'll undertake a 5-hr hike to the Taktsang Monastery, also famously known as the Tiger's Nest. Perched at an altitude of 10,240 feet, it is one of the most sought-after places by Buddhist pilgrims in Bhutan. After visiting the monastery and clicking amazing pictures of the valley from the top, you'll hike down the valley floor and head back to Paro. Overnight in a hotel at Paro.

    Day 8 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Paro to Siliguri

    Rev up your bikes for an 8-hr ride to reach Phuentsholing. You may choose to visit a few attractions in town such as the Chukha Hydrothermal project or a crocodile breeding centre. You'll continue riding toward Siliguri, cross the national border back to re-enter India and return your bikes back to the tour operator upon reaching Siliguri. Overnight at a hotel in Siliguri.

    Arrive at Siliguri. Today, you'll ride across the border and reach Phuentsholing. You'll have to buy breakfast and meals at your own expense at restaurants and eateries along the wa. Please make sure to carry a govt-issued photo ID, a passport and a valid driver's license.

    Day 2 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

    Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.

    Ride from Phuentsholing to Thimphu. You'll be accommodated at a hotel in Thimphu. Phuentsholing is the border town on the Indo-Bhutanese national border. Indian citizens do not require a visa to visit Bhutan but are required to carry a valid passport. Today's meal package includes breakfast only.

    Day 3 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Day at Thimpu

    Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.

    Spend the day at Thimphu. You'll be accommodated at the same hotel in Thimphu. Today's meal package includes breakfast only. Every day, you'll stop by a restaurant or eatery to have lunch. You can buy dinner from the hotel where you'll spend your night.

    Ride from Thimphu to Punakha. Your entourage will be led by an experienced road captain who will assist you throughout the trip. You'll be accommodated at a hotel in Punakha. Today's meal package includes breakfast only.

    Day 5 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Day trip to Phobjikha

    Go on a day trip to visit the Phobjikha Valley. You'll spend the night in the same hotel in Punakha as yesterday. All accommodation will be in twin or triple sharing rooms. Couples will be given twin sharing accommodation, only subject to availability. Today's meal package includes breakfast only.

    Day 6 of the Bhutan motorbiking trip: Punakha to Paro

    Ride from Punakha to Paro. Your entourage will be followed by a support vehicle that will ensure that you're never the last rider in line. You'll be accommodated in a hotel at Paro. Today's meal package includes breakfast only.
