  • Trip introduction

    Known for its generous display of natural beauty and its ability to reach such a high altitude at such a short span of time, this 4-day Bhrigu Lake trek is a perfect adventure for beginners looking for a quick escape. You'll trek through oak and cedar forests, lush green meadows, carpets of alpine flooring and gushing streams. All along the route, there are views of the snow-capped peaks of the Seven Sisters, Deo Tibba and Hanuman Tibba and the outstretched Pir Panjal ranges!

    The lake itself is a sacred spot, as the sage Bhrigu is believed to have meditated here.

    Destination

    Situated in the upper Kullu Valley of Garhwal Himalayas, Bhrigu Lake is at 14100 feet, gleaming in the sunlight, and serene all day long. You'll start from the beautiful Gulaba, and trek through Rohli Kholi before reaching Bhrigu Lake. You will then travel to Pandu Ropa and Vashist before making it back to Manali. You'll be camping in alpine meadows, walking past small streams and through pine forests.

    Rules on the trip

    Participants must adhere to the instructions of the trip leader/guide at all times during the Bhrigu Lake trek.

    Consumption of alcoholic beverages/drugs during the Bhrigu Lake trek is not permitted.

    Cancellation policy

    The cancellation policy is as follows:

    For any cancellations made 24 days or more prior to the departure of the Bhrigu Lake trek: 95% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount to book any other trek with the same operator within a year.

    For cancellations made between 14-24 days before the departure of the Bhrigu Lake trek: 70% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount to book the same trek with any other batch of the same operator within a year.

    For any cancellations made between 10-14 days before the departure of the Bhrigu Lake trek: 50% of the total trip cost will be refunded minus any transaction charges, or you can use this amount for the same trek in the same season.

    For cancellations made less than 10 days before the departure of the Bhrigu Lake trek: No refund but you can transfer the same trek to a friend.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the Bhrigu Lake batch.

    In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by the operator.

    The operator holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.

  • Day 1 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Trek to Gulaba meadows

    Do ensure that you report to the Manali Bus Stand by 14:00 hrs. You'll be transferred to Gulaba, about 2 hours away. Your Bhrigu Lake trek begins from here. It's an easy trek of about 3 hours to your campsite in the meadows. Here you'll have some time exploring the area before it's time to settle down for the night. Overnight in tents.

    Day 2 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Trek to Rohli Kholi

    Today you'll be trekking to Rohli Kholi, which involves some steep ascents. It's a trek of 7 kms, which should take you about 5 hours to complete. During this trek, not only will you pass lush meadows dotted with wild flowers, or trek over wooden bridges and stone-cobbled paths, you'll also get closer views of the Solang Valley and the pristine peaks near Beaskund, like Hanuman Tibba and the Seven sister peaks. You'll be camping in Rohli Kholi for the night.

    Day 3 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Trek to Bhrigu Lake

    You'll start your day early today, waking up to watch the sun rise over Rola Kholi. As the sky turns brighter, you'll eat breakfast and set off on your trek to Bhrigu Lake. This part of your journey is difficult yet thrilling, as it comprises of steep pathways and scree-covered slopes. You'll finally get to Bhrigu Lake, which stays frozen for most of the year. You'll have some time to admire the views from here, before it's time to head to Pandu Ropa. You'll be glad to retire to your tents today.

    Day 4 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Return to Manali

    Today’s trek mainly consists of descending: first to Vashist from Pandu Ropa, then to Manali via a drive. You'll start early, walking through apple orchards and rice fields before reaching the historic village of Vashisht, where you'll stop at the hot springs. You can take a quick dip here if you like. After that, you'll board vehicles to take you back to Manali. You should arrive in Manali by 18:00 hrs. Your trip ends in Manali.

    Day 2 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Trek to Rohli Kholi

    You'll be camping in arguably the most beautiful campsite of the entire Bhrigu Lake trek today. Roli Kholi lies in a wide space, surrounded on three sides by mountains. You'll be sheltered from winds, with clear starry skies above. Today's package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 3 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Trek to Bhrigu Lake

    Overnight in tents

    After a long trek today, you'll have a relaxed evening at your Pandu Ropa campsite, before you retire to bed. Today's package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Day 4 of the Bhrigu Lake trek: Return to Manali

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    You'll be given breakfast and lunch today, and your trek ends at Vashisht. After that, you'll be driven to Manali. Your trip ends here, at about 18:00 hrs.
