Day 1 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Delhi to Chandigarh
Early in the morning, you'll convene at a meeting point in Delhi, where you'll meet your road captain and fellow riders. After a short test ride in the streets of Delhi, you'll flag off the motorbiking adventure by taking the NH44 to Chandigarh. You'll ride over the flat, wide national highway and cross the towns of Panipat and Kurukshetra, before arriving at Chandigarh by late afternoon. In the evening, you can head out to explore the planned city. Overnight in a hotel at Chandigarh.
Day 2 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Chandigarh to Manali
Riding through sprawling fields and farms, you'll continue the motorbiking adventure to Manali. En route, you'll cross the gigantic Pando Dam and ride alongside the gushing Beas River. Today, you'll leave the straight, wide national highway behind and take the twisting roads of high, mountain passes. At Manali, you'll check-in to your hotel and head out to explore the hill station. Overnight in a hotel at Manali.
Day 3 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Manali to Jispa
Leaving behind the lush, green valleys of Manali, you'll drive ahead to enter the barren, brown landscapes of Ladakh. En route, you'll cross the Rohtang Pass, a major mountain pass that often experiences major snowstorms in the winter season. Scenes of snow-capped mountains peaks will begin popping up over the horizon as you navigate tricky road sections and rest at vantage points. Overnight in a hotel or Swiss tents at Jispa.
Day 4 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Jispa to Sarchu
Continue forward from Jispa. You'll drive to the Sarchu Plains by going up to an altitude of over 16,000 feet to cross the Baralacha-La Pass. As you continue gaining altitude each day, pay close attention to the instructions of your road captain and take adequate measures to ensure proper acclimatization. On the road to Sarchu, you'll take brief halts at Zing Zing Bar and Sarai to rest and admire the dramatic beauty of the mountains. Overnight in Swiss tents at Sarchu.
Day 5 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Sarchu to Leh
Ride from Sarchu to Leh and cross state borders to enter the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Today, you'll take on the challenge of crossing the Gata Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends. You'll ride through the More Plains, a scenic stretch of the route with photogenic mountains on either side of the road. En route, cross the Tanglang-La Pass, the second highest motorable mountain pass in the world, and arrive at Leh. Overnight in Swiss tents or a hotel at Leh.
Day 6 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Day at Leh
Today is reserved as a rest day for you to take a break and acclimatize to the high altitude of the city. You can spend your day at leisure or choose to visit various local attractions in Leh such as the Leh Palace and the Shanti Stupa. You can also visit the Leh marketplace to shop for any souvenirs or gifts. Overnight in Swiss tents or a hotel at Leh.
Day 7 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Leh to Nubra Valley
On today's ride from Leh to Nubra Valley, you'll take on the adventure of riding over the world's highest motorable mountain pass at the Khardung-La. At an altitude of over 18,000 feet, stop to take in scenes of the snow-laden landscape from the pass. You'll cross Khardung-La and enter the Nubra Valley, a high-altitude cold desert known for the sand dunes and double-humped camels. Overnight in Swiss tents or a hotel at Nubra Valley.
Day 8 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake
One of the most adventurous of all days, today will see you taking off-beat, rocky, narrow mountain roads to the Pangong Lake. The astounding beauty of the lake, flanked by towering mountains on all sides, stands out as soon as you arrive. The colours of the water change shades of blue and green as the sun begins to set in the evening. At night, look up at the dark sky, twinkling with a thousand, bright stars. Overnight in Swiss tents at the Pangong Lake.
Day 9 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Pangong Lake to Leh
After a blissful night by the Pangong Lake, you'll travel back to the capital city of Leh. En route, you'll cross the high-altitude Chang-La Pass and take a pit stop outside the Lotus Valley School, featured in the popular Bollywood movie '3 Idiots'. Overnight in Swiss tents or a hotel in Leh.
Day 10 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Leh to Kargil
The motorbiking expedition continues from Leh and onward to Kargil. En route, you'll stop to visit the enchanting Buddhist monastery of Lamayuru. Driving alongside the Zanskar River, you'll arrive at Kargil by late afternoon. Subject to time constraints, you'll also visit the Magnetic Hill and the Kargil War Memorial. Overnight in a hotel in Kargil.
Day 11 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Kargil to Srinagar
Ride from Kargil to Srinagar. En route, you'll cross the village of Drass, the second coldest inhabited village in the world, drive over the Zojila Pass and ride through Sonmarg. After a week in the cold and arid mountains of Ladakh, the scant greenery near Srinagar is a pleasant sight. In the evening, you can visit local attractions in the city or visit the Dal Lake to take a Shikara boat ride. Overnight in a houseboat or a hotel in Srinagar.
Day 12 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Srinagar to Pathankot
Travel from Srinagar to Pathankot. Make sure to begin early in the morning, since you'll be riding for a long 11-hr stretch today. Exiting the state of Jammu and Kashmir, you'll once again return to the flat, wide national highway roads. Highlights of today's journey includes the 3-km long Jawahar Tunnel and beautiful views of the valley. Overnight in a hotel at Pathankot.
Day 13 of the Ladakh motorbiking trip: Pathankot to Delhi
On the last day of the journey, you'll cover a long stretch from Pathankot to Delhi and end your motorbiking adventure by late evening. Your trip ends here.
