  • Trip introduction

Enjoy your weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city with this short and easy trek through the Binsar wildlife sanctuary. This 2-day trek takes you into the inner sanctuary via an off-beat route with waterfalls and river streams en route. With the chirping of alpine birds that live in the sanctuary, you'll reach the Binsar Zero Point, a vantage point to soak in views of snow-clad peaks like Mt. Nanda Devi and Mt. Trishul. A pleasant and easy hike, this Binsar trek is a great choice for beginner as well as seasoned trekkers.

    Destination

The Binsar wildlife sanctuary, located in the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, is home to a range of alpine wildlife species from leopards and barking deers to the Himalayan black bears and the sambhars. A birder's paradise, you'll often spot unique and brightly-colored birds fluttering among treetops and chirping in the woods of the sanctuary. Here, you'll also find small, hillside villages tucked away in the secluded folds of the mountains. After a day spent exploring the sanctuary, you'll stay at one such quaint hamlet under a dark, night sky that is decorated with a hundred twinkling stars.
