  • Trip introduction

The trek to Galibeedu Peak is one of the lesser known treks around Bangalore, but it is a perfect trekking destination for beginner trekkers as the ascends here are less steep. It is also perfect for those looking for a relaxing getaway from the rush of the city life. On this trip, you will experience the blissful beauty of the Western Ghats of Karnataka, and the sedate Coorgi lifestyle. You will trek through dense forests and lush meadows to reach the summit, where you will be treated to the exquisite views of the thick forests of Coorg. You will also get to explore culture and lifestyle of the quaint hill town of Medikari.

    Destination

Coorg is a flourishing agriculture centre in Karnataka, known for its coffee plantations, rich forests and misty mountains; aptly referred to as the Scotland of India. The region is a true heaven for trekkers of all age and experience. Located in its heart is the breezy hill of Galibeedu, neighbouring the famous hill town of Medikeri. The Galibeedu peak is located at an altitude of 4500 feet, and is one of the off-beat locations for trekkers. On this trek, you get to experience the rich biodiversity of this not-so-explored region and also its unique culture.
