  • Trip introduction

This 7 day roadtrip takes you from Manali into the dramatic landscape of the Spiti Valley, where you’ll see turquoise rivers, timeless villages, and the ancient monasteries of Ki, Nako and Tabo, where the air is heavy with incense. You'll also visit Komik, one of Asia's highest inhabited villages, and send a postcard from Hikkim, the highest post-office in the world. You'll spend a night at the stunning Chandratal Lake, where you'll camp for the night in Swiss tents.

Apart from the lovely views, you'll also enjoy some fun activities: a riverside bonfire in Pin Valley, a guided tour by a monk in Ki Monastery, a cooking session in a homestay in Lhalung, and, if time permits, a short trek to Dhankar Lake.

    Destination

Spiti has a majestic beauty of its own, with craggy rocks and towering mountains all around. The landscape is bleached white and grey with centuries of extreme weather, but the patches of green oases and sparkling water bodies offer lovely contrasts and make for some wonderful photography opportunities.

Your jeep odyssey begins and ends in Manali, and takes you through some truly spectacular landscape. You'll be comfortably seated in a non-A/C Force Traveller shared by 10 people, and will enjoy an easy ride over 7 days. You'll stay in quaint hotels or in homestays with local families, seeing how they live their daily lives in this extreme terrain.
