  • Trip introduction

    The PADI Open Water Diver course in Koh Tao is one of the most popular dive courses for those who are looking to pave their way into the diving world, whilst wanting to explore newer dive sites and gorgeous marine biodiversity of Thailand. Conducted over 4 days, this course entails 2 days of learning theory about the different types of dive sites and techniques and embarking on pool training sessions in confined waters. Once you’re ready, on the remaining days you’ll embark on 4 highly invigorating dives.

    You'll get to dive as deep as 60 feet at some of the most gorgeous diving sites. And at the end of the course, you'll be rewarded with a PADI Open Water Diver certification.

    IMPORTANT: For this course participants will be required to complete a 10-minute float or a 10-minute swim of any stroke.

    Destination

    Koh Tao is a popular destination amongst divers worldwide, and is less developed than its neighbour Koh Samui. It is renowned for its rich vegetation and forest covers, and the diverse variety of marine life below the surface of the water. The waters around the island house over 130 species of hard corals, 223 species of reef fish, and a high population of the native green turtle. And if you're lucky, you might even spot a reef shark or a whale shark.

    For cancellations made on Day 1 of the PADI Open Water Diver course in Koh Tao: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made before 17:00 hrs on Day 2 of the PADI Open Water Diver course in Koh Tao: 20% refund.

    For cancellations made after 17:00 hrs on Day 2: No refund.

    In case of no show: No refund.

    If the operator cancels the PADI Open Water Diver course in Koh Tao due to any reason: 100% refund minus bank transfer charges.

  • Day 1 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: Theory and Pool Sessions

    Be ready at your hotel lobby in Koh Samui by 07:00 hrs, from where you'll be picked up and taken to the dive centre. You'll start your PADI Open Water Diver course a theory session where you'll learn about the basics of scuba diving. The second part of this day will consist of pool sessions where you'll put to practical use everything you learnt in theory. By 17:00 hrs, you'll be dropped back to your hotel.

    Day 2 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: Revision and Practise

    Today, you'll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the dive centre. There, you'll complete learning the remaining theory and undergo a quick revision of everything you learned the previous day. You'll even understand the use of the dive equipment before parctising some more in the swimming pool. Class ends by 13:00 hrs where you'll be dropped back to your hotel.

    Day 3 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: 2 Open Water Dives

    Be ready in your hotel lobby today by 07:00 hrs as you'll be picked up and taken to the jetty where you'll board the speedboat and sail over to Koh Tao for your first diving session. The journey lasts around 1.5 hours, however once you reach the Koh Tao island, you'll be taken to a gorgeous dive site to enjoy your first dive. Then, you'll head over to your second dive site to enjoy your second dive. At the end of your dives you'll return back to the jetty from where you'll be dropped back to your hotel.

    Day 4 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: 2 Open Water Dives

    Today, you'll be picked up from your hotel by 07:00 hrs. As it is your second diving day, you'll return to Koh Tao again, or you'll travel to Sail Rock to embark upon your remaining 2 dives. Once there, you'll embark on your third dive followed by a lunch break. After lunch, you'll embark on your fourth dive. Today's dives will take you even deeper, as deep as 60 feet into the waters as you explore the deeper crevices and ecosystems of Thailand's fish rich waters. At the end of your dives you'll return back to the dive centre 16:00 hrs to fill out your log book and collect your certificate. After this, you'll be dropped back to your hotel. Your trip ends here.

    Today, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Koh Samui by 07:00 hrs. After completing theory sessions, you'll enjoy a lunch break in the afternoon where you'll be offered a traditonal Thai meal. Besides lunch you'll also be offered fresh fruits, soft drinks and water. Today's course ends by 17:00 hrs, where in you'll be dropped back to your hotel. For this trip please do carry adequate money in the local currency for tips or additional expenses.

    Day 2 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: Revision and Practise

    No accommodation is provided.

    Follow the same routine as the revious day and be ready in your hotel lobby by 07:00 hrs. After a some revision and practise you'll break for lunch in the afternoon. Enjoy a traditional Thai meal followed by fruits, water or soft drinks. Normally, today's class ends after lunch, so you'll be dropped back to your hotel to spend the rest of the day as you like.

    Day 3 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: 2 Open Water Dives

    No accommodation is provided.

    On the first day of your diving session, be ready at your hotel lobby in Koh Samui by 07:00 hrs. From there you'll be picked up and taken to the dive site to embark upon your dives. After completing your first dive, you'll feast on a delicious lunch either on the boat or on the beach. Besides lunch, your package also includes fresh fruits, soft drinks and water. Once you finish both your dives, you'll return back to the dive centre from where you'll be dropped back to your hotel.

    Day 4 of the PADI Open Water Diver Course in Koh Tao: 2 Open Water Dives

    Your course ends before nightfall.

    Be ready at your hotel lobby by 07:00 hrs. As you'll follow the same routine as the previous day, you'll enjoy lunch after your first dive for the day followed by some fruits, water or soft drinks. At the end of your dives you'll return to the dive centre to collect your certificate before you're dropped back to your hotel. Your course ends here.
