    Journey across Spiti, a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas, on sturdy Royal Enfield motorbikes by signing up for this thrilling 10-day expedition. With a gang of daredevil motorbikers, your ride begins from the gorgeous planned city of Chandigarh. Every day, you'll explore the riveting landscapes of Spiti by riding across famous mountain passes like the Rohtang and Kunzum-La.

    You'll stop by the world’s highest post office in Hikkim and pay a visit to the highest village with a motorable road in Komic. You'll spend a tranquil night under the bright starry sky near the crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake and delight in the gorgeous views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks all around.

    Please note that the displayed price is the per person price for a booking of one motorbike rider and one pillion rider.

    Please note that the traveller has to pay an additional, refundable security deposit of INR 10,000 per motorbike to the tour operator.

    Destination

    Spiti Valley is a cold desert valley nestled at over 12,500 feet in north-eastern Himachal Pradesh. With the backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks, you'll ride to interesting destinations in the valley, from the last inhabited village of the fossil village of India at Langza or the 1,000-year old monastery at Key Gompa. Throughout the ride, you'll witness the spellbinding landscape changing from the lush, green meadows of Chandigarh to the brown, barren mountains of Spiti.

    Your ride will begin from Chandigarh, lead you into the Spiti Valley, and terminate at Manali. Every day, you'll stay at comfortable hotels or Swiss tents in the destinations that you visit.

    Rules on the trip

    Travellers will be required to pay a refundable, security deposit of INR 10,000 per motorbike. Any major damage or loss to the motorbike and use of any spare parts will be deducted from the security deposit. This deposit is payable directly to the tour operator and any disputes involving the deposit will be settled between the tour operator and the traveller.

    Travellers are required to follow all instructions of the road captain during the Spiti motorbiking trip.

    Consumption of alcohol and drugs is strictly prohibited during the trip. Travellers suspected of intoxication will not be allowed to participate in the trip.

    Travellers are required to carry a valid, govt-issued photo ID card and a valid driver's licence.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    Cancellation policy

    If the tour operator cancels this Spiti motorbiking trip on the scheduled departure date due to any unavoidable circumstances, then you'll either be offered a spot in the next scheduled departure date or a 100% refund will be provided.

    If you cancel this Spiti motorbiking trip at any day after the booking: no refund.

    In case of no show: no refund.

    All refunds will be processed after deducting a transaction fee of INR 200 per person. This fee is charged by The Great Next.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    All prices displayed are for travellers with an Indian citizenship. Foreign nationals will be charged a premium to account for the additional cost of obtaining special permits from the government.

    Travellers are allowed to bring their own motorbike on this Spiti motorbiking trip. In such cases, the price of the trip will not include safety helmets and fuel. Please ensure that your motorbike is registered to the rider's name and all documents (pollution check, insurance, driver's licence etc) are in order.

    The departure date and itinerary of this Spiti motorbiking trip is subject to change on account of any unavoidable circumstances like landslides, flight cancellations or weather conditions.

    The tour operator reserves the right to alter the trip cost in case there is an unprecedented hike in the price of petrol.

    Arrive at Chandigarh and check-in to a pre-arranged hotel in the city. You have the whole day to explore the beautiful town and visit local attractions like the Rock Garden of Chandigarh. Report to your hotel in the evening for a briefing session on important guidelines by your road captain. Overnight in a hotel at Chandigarh.

    Day 2 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Chandigarh to Narkanda

    Your motorbiking trip begins today. You'll ride from Chandigarh to Narkanda on a mountainous road through dense forests of pindrow and fir trees. You'll pass by the hill-station of Shimla and reach Narkanda, at an altitude of 8,888 feet. Overnight at a hotel in Narkanda.

    Day 3 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Narkanda to Chitkul

    After early morning start, you'll begin riding to the silent Kinnaur Valley. You'll ride alongside the Baspa River to reach Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. It is the highest village in the Baspa Valley that offers gorgeous views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Overnight in a guesthouse at Chitkul.

    Day 4 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Chitkul to Kalpa

    Ride from Chitkul to Reckong Peo, the capital of Kinnaur district. You'll continue further from the town and ride uphill to reach Kalpa, a beautiful town at the base of gigantic Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Enjoy the evening sunset at Kalpa. Overnight in guesthouse at Kalpa.

    Day 5 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Kalpa to Kaza

    Leave for Kaza via the India-Tibet Highway. En route, you'll stop by the confluence of the Spiti and Satluj rivers and view the snow-clad peak of Mt. Leo Purgyil. You'll also take a detour to the Gue village and visit the 500-year old "mummy", the only one found and preserved in India. Overnight in a hotel at Kaza.

    Day 6 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Day at Kaza

    Today, you'll explore some of the most popular attractions in Kaza. Start by setting foot in Komic, the highest village with a motorable road in the world, followed by a visit to the world's highest post office in Hikkim. You'll also visit the famous Langza village, also called the fossil village of India, and get captivated by the distant snowy peak of Chau Chau Kang Nilda against the blue sky. Overnight in a hotel at Kaza.

    Day 7 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Kaza to Chandratal Lake

    On the way to Chandratal, you'll stop by the Key Gompa monastery, the largest monastery in Spiti Valley. Ride over the sky-high Kunzum Pass and move towards the gorgeous crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake, situated at an altitude of 14,100 feet. Spend the evening under the starlit sky. Overnight in Swiss tents at Chandratal Lake.

    Day 8 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Chandratal Lake to Manali

    Enjoy the last ride of this motorbiking trip to Manali. You'll ride via the popular Rohtang Pass, one of the most beautiful routes of your trip. After reaching Manali in the evening, you'll hand over the bike to the tour operator and check-in to a hotel. Overnight in a hotel at Manali.

    Day 9 of the Spiti motorbiking trip: Depart from Manali

    You can spend the day exploring the hill-station of Manali. Check-out from the hotel in the morning and visit the Hadimba Temple or shop at the famous Mall road. In the evening, get onboard a semi-sleeper Volvo bus to Delhi. Overnight in transit.
