    This 4-day trek to Hampta Pass will take you along narrow nature trails that pass through dense forests teeming with Himalayan wildlife and brightly coloured flowers. En route, you'll catch views of stunning landscapes with snow-capped mountain peaks of Dhauladhar, Spiti and Pir Panjal mountain ranges. Renowned among trekking enthusiasts as a gateway to the foothills of mighty Himalayas, the Hampta Pass trek also offers a chance to spend your nights camping at altitudes of 12,000 ft.

    On this 4-day adventure, you'll trek on moderately difficult terrain, making this trip perfect for fit beginners as well as experienced trekkers. Please note that this itinerary does not include Chandratal Lake.

    Destination

    Located at an altitude of 14,100 ft, Hampta Pass connects the two neighbouring valleys of Kullu and Spiti. In decades past, the pass used to serve as a popular route for traders coming from Spiti valley to sell their wares in town of Manali. Today, the pass is just as popular with trekking enthusiasts who come to explore the variety of Hampta’s landscape. From the lush grasslands and gushing rivers of the Kullu valley, the landscape undergoes a dramatic change to the barren mountain slopes and rough terrain of the Spiti Valley. Embark on this 4-day adventure trek to Hampta Pass and witness this change to a stunning backdrop of snow-laden mountain peaks.

    Consumption of liquor, drugs, tobacco products and cigarettes is strictly prohibited during the trek to Hampta Pass.

    Travellers are requested to treat the local culture with respect and avoid littering, defacing property and monuments and causing general disturbance.

    For cancellations made 24 days or more before departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 95% refund.

    For cancellations made 13-24 days before departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 70% refund.

    For cancellations made 14-8 days before departure of the Hampta Pass trek: 50% refund.

    For cancellations made 8 days or less before departure of the Hampta Pass trek: No refund.

    Additional instructions, booking policies, terms and conditions

    Travellers are required to adhere to the instructions of the tour guide during the trek to Hampta Pass.

    The tour operator takes utmost care to ensure safety of the travellers and shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident or loss of life during the trek to Hampta Pass.

  • Day 1 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Drive to Jobra and trek to Chika

    Make sure that you arrive at the Manali bus stand by 08:00 hrs. Here, you'll meet the rest of your team and take shared, private vehicles to the village of Jobra. After a 2-hr drive to Jobra, you'll begin trekking along an easy trail, overlooking the Rani River. You'll reach the Chika campsite after 3-hrs of trekking through dense forests. Overnight at Chika in tents.

    Day 2 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Trek from Chika to Balu ka Ghera

    Wake up early as you'll begin trekking towards Balu Ka Ghera. Your route will take you through narrow trails surrounded by thick forests. En route, you can stop at vantage points to click amazing photos of the Dhauladhar mountain peaks. After a 5-hr easy ascent, you'll reach Balu Ka Ghera by late afternoon. Take some time to explore the campsite and admire the spectacular views outside your tents. Overnight at Balu Ka Ghera in tents.

    Day 3 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Day trek to Hampta Pass!

    The most awaited day of the trip, today you'll trek uphill on a moderate trail to reach the Hampta Pass. From the pass, you can catch stunning views of snow-capped mountains of the Indian Himalayas, including the Indrasan peak and its enormous glaciers. You'll begin trekking back from Hampta Pass and gradually descend to Balu Ka Ghera. Overnight at Balu Ka Ghera in tents.

    Day 4 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Jobra and drive to Manali

    Wake up to your last day in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Today, you'll trek back to the base camp at the village of Jobra. From here, you'll drive back to Manali in shared, private vehicles and reach Manali by evening. Your trip ends here.

    You will be accommodated in alpine tents pitched at the campsite in Chika on a triple sharing basis. The campsite is equipped with common kitchen/dining and toilet tents. Today's meal package includes lunch upon arrival at the campsite and dinner in the evening. You may spend extra to have breakfast en route from Manali.

    Day 2 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Trek from Chika to Balu ka Ghera

    Overnight at Balu Ka Gera in tents.

    You will be accommodated in alpine tents pitched at the campsite in Balu Ka Gera on a triple sharing basis. Clean sleeping bags and mattresses will be provided to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch, evening tea/snacks and dinner.

    Day 3 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Day trek to Hampta Pass!

    Overnight at Sia Goru in tents.

    You will be accommodated in alpine tents pitched at the campsite in Sia Goru on a triple sharing basis. Today's meal package includes breakfast, lunch, evening tea/snacks and dinner.

    Day 4 of the trek to Hampta Pass: Trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Jobra and drive to Manali

    Your trip ends before nightfall.

    Today's meal package includes breakfast before departure from the campsite and lunch en route to Manali. You may spend extra to have dinner upon arrival at Manali.
