Trekking in Goa Overview

A paradise away from the bustling metro city life, Goa is a haven surrounded by lush green flora and beautiful beaches. Even though Goa is popular mainly for its beaches, cuisine and clubs, trekking in Goa may just be the new beach getaway option you must explore.

With expansive views of green and breath-taking waterfalls hidden within the heart of Goa, trekking in Goa will unravel these exotic destinations. Popular trekking places in Goa include the Dudhsagar Falls, Ravan Dongor Peak, Neuti and Arambol beaches.

Trek to Dudhsagar Waterfalls

The Dudhsagar waterfalls at nearly 1017 ft tall, is one of the most popular trekking places in Goa. ‘Dudhsagar’, literally translates to ‘Sea of Milk’, owing to its pristine white water that descends over several levels to meet at the bottom, forming a picturesque view. Prepare for quite a bit of travel to this location as the waterfall is positioned on the border of Karnataka and Goa on the Mandovi River.

This uphill trek along the railway tracks is accompanied with a journey through the tropical forests and overgrown trails. End this trek with a cool dip in one of the natural swimming holes.

Uphill Trek to Ravan Dongor Peak

At 3000 feet above sea level, the Ravan Dongor Peak Trek is one of those lesser known trekking places in Goa. Perfect for seasoned trekkers, the Ravan Dongor Peak is known to be the third highest peak in the state. This upward journey through lush green flora and tropical trees offers beautiful views of the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary from the peak.

Spectacular views of the vast ocean on a clear sunny day complete this experience, while the natural swimming pool at the bottom of the peak will leave you feeling refreshed as the journey ends here.
